Deputy PM says Trump’s Muslim ban unacceptable, humiliating

Must read

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and government spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş has criticized a ban imposed by US President Donald Trump on travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, describing it as unacceptable and humiliating.

The ban effectively bans citizens from three African and four Middle Eastern countries from entering the US. It is accompanied by a 120-day suspension of all US refugee programs.

“It is impossible to accept this. … In a country like the US, which is known to be a melting pot for different religions and ethnic groups, such a decision is very humiliating. It is not right,” Kurtulmuş said in remarks that appeared in the Haber Türk daily on Tuesday.

The deputy prime minister said the US administration needs to revise the ban, which has sparked protests across the US and worldwide.
