Journalist Aylina Kılıç tweeted on Tuesday that she was detained by police at İstanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport over alleged “terrorist propaganda.”
According to the tweets posted by Kılıç, she is going to appear in an Istanbul court tomorrow.
“I have been detained at Istanbul airport on charges of doing terror propaganda. I deny these claims. I’m a journalist,” Kılıç said in a tweet.
“I will appear in an Istanbul court tomorrow. I just want to say to all of you that journalism is not a crime!”
There are currently 144 journalists behind bars across Turkey.
