Turkey’s top judicial body rejects 233 judges’ bid for immediate reinstatement

The Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) on Friday rejected applications for reinstatement to their former positions from 233 judges and prosecutors who were dismissed over alleged links to the Gulen movement.

The number of judges and prosecutors who have been fired has reached 3,843 since a July 15 coup attempt in Turkey.

There are 14.661 prosecutors and judges working as part of the Turkish justice system. (Turkey Purge)
