At the end of a year in which Turkey has been struck by multiple terrorist attacks, eight Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspects were detained on Saturday night due to intelligence that they might be gearing up for an attack on New Year’s Eve.
The counterterrorism units of the Ankara police force conducted raids in the Sincan and Çubuk districts of the capital. Several ISIL publications were reportedly found in the homes of the suspects.
