Six people who were detained in relation to the murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov on Monday were released on Thursday.
A 22-year-old policeman, Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş, shot Karlov to death while the ambassador was giving a speech at an art gallery in Ankara on Monday evening. Altıntaş was subsequently killed in a shootout by the police.
Following the attack, Altıntaş’s parents, sister and three other relatives were detained by Turkish police.
