Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Wednesday that one of two assailants in twin blasts near an İstanbul soccer stadium last weekend had come from Syria.

Speaking during an interview with a TV station on Wednesday, Çavuşoğlu said: “We are always telling our counterparts about this threat [the Syrian offshoot of terrorist the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)]. And now, we see that the Beşiktaş bomber also came from Syria.”

The Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK), an offshoot of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), on Sunday claimed responsibility for the twin bomb attacks that killed 44 people, mostly policemen, outside Beşiktaş’ Vodafone Arena and injured more than160.
