Turkish jets destroy 17 ISIL targets in Syria

Following Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attacks over the weekend that critically wounded two Turkish soldiers in northern Syria, Turkish airstrikes hit at least two ISIL-occupied buildings in the Al-Bab region, destroying 17 ISIL targets, a military statement said.

Earlier on Sunday, two Turkish soldiers who were among troops taking part in Operation Euphrates Shield were wounded in an ISIL attack near Al Bab. Soldiers who were taken to Gaziantep for emergency care are said to be in serious condition.

One Turkish soldier was killed in another ISIL attack on Saturday.

Twelve Turkish soldiers have been killed during Operation Euphrates Shield since its inception on Aug. 24.
