The Turkish lira reached a record low on Friday against the US dollar, at 3.1156 lira to the dollar.
The Turkish lira has continued to drop against the dollar in recent weeks amid political uncertainty that could have been triggered by a government move to introduce legislation seeking to a switch to an executive presidential system of governance as well as a regional crisis in Syria and Iraq.
