The unemployment rate in Turkey grew from 10.2 percent to 10.7 percent year-on-year in July, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) said on Monday.
The jobless population surged by 354,000 people to reach 3.32 million in July, compared to same month a year ago.
Youth employment also rose from 18.3 percent to 19.8 percent, indicating that nearly one-fifth of Turkey’s young population is jobless.
Meanwhile, unregistered employment recorded a slight decrease and dropped to 34.3 percent in July.
