Turkish police on Wednesday detained 48 people including pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and Democratic Regions Party (DBP) provincial and district co-chairpersons in the southeastern provinces of Diyarbakır, Van and Hakkari.
Police raided dozens of locations in the three provinces during the operation.
In a similar operation on Tuesday, 55 Kurdish politicians from the DBP and HDP were detained in Diyarbakır.
No details of charges the detainees are facing are yet available.
