40 ISIL suspects detained in operations in Konya, Adana

Forty people were detained on Friday in operations against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) members in Konya and Adana provinces.
Konya police raided many addresses of the people who are suspected to be linked with ISIL on Friday morning. Police seized documents during the raids. Twenty of the suspects have been referrred to court after their interrogation at the police headquarters.
Meanwhile in Adana, police raided many addresses in Seyhan and Yüreğir districts as part of an investigation against ISIL. 20 suspects, including women were detained during the operations. The suspects were taken to police headquarters for interrogation.
Seventeen ISIL suspects were also detained in Samsun province on Thursday.
Operations against ISIL in Turkey have intensified as the Turkish Armed Forces launched the “Euphrates Shield” operation on Aug. 24 to back Syrian rebels’ bid to clear ISIL from Syrian territories bordering Turkey.
