The Turkish Airlines (THY) fired a total of 268 employees due to “unproductivity” after warning most of them regarding social media posts from their private accounts, according to a report by the Kokpit.aero website.
The THY reportedly asked for the defense of the 268 personnel, who worked in various positions, for being “unproductive” in their job two weeks before the lay-offs.
The website’s report says cabin crews were previously asked by the THY management to be considerate about their posts on their social media feeds. The warning notice asked employees to avoid “damaging the reputation of the company” and “exposing classified information pertaining to the company.”
The employees were dismissed reportedly after disregarding the warning and quitting cleaning.
