Seven more people, all of them foreign nationals, were arrested due to having links to the suicide attack that claimed lives of 45 and injured more than 200 in İstanbul’s Atatürk Airport on June 28.
The seven were detained by police officers from the counterterrorism unit of the İstanbul Police Department and referred to Bakırköy Courthouse to testify.
The suspects were sent to penal court of peace for arrest. The court arrested them on charges that include “membership in a terrorist organization” and “participation in murder.”
30 people were also arrested due to having links to the attack last week.
Turkish officials told the media following the attack that evidence collected so far pointed to the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria (ISIS) militants as the most likely perpetrator.
