Death toll rises to 6 in terrorist attack in Midyat

Death toll of the bomb attack organized in the Midyat district of the southeastern Mardin province reportedly by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists early on Wednesday morning has risen to six, with three more people losing their lives while receiving treatment in hospitals.

The explosion took place when a bomb-laden vehicle was exploded in front of the Midyat Police Department around 11 a.m.

Three police officers – two of them identified as Nezife Özsoy and Şerife Özden – and three civilians — Fahrettin Ekici, Bekir Sayan and Hayriye Sayan – lost their lives while 51 people were injured in Wednesday’s attack.

A similar bomb attack in İstanbul’s Vezneciler area left 11 dead and 36 more injured on Tuesday.
