The security operations carried out in Nusaybin district of Mardin province and in Şırnak by the Turkish security forces against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were completed on Friday.
The operation to fill the trenches dug by PKK members and remove the barricades in Nusaybin had started on March 14 after the declaration of a curfew in the district.
A total of 70 security forces were killed in the operation in Nusaybin while 496 terrorists were also killed.
The operation in Şırnak had started on March 14, too.
The violence erupted in especially southeastern Turkey, after the collapse of a ceasefire between the PKK and the Turkish government ended in last July.
PKK is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey, European Union and the United States.
