3 killed in car bomb attack targeting gendarmerie post in Mardin

A soldier and two village guards were killed after a car bomb attack hit Anıtlı Gendarmerie Post in Midyat district of Mardin province on Wednesday.

The attack was allegedly carried out by terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members around 8 p.m. Turkish media reported that the village guards at the gendarmerie post opened fire on the car after they realized the terrorists in it. The bomb-laden car was then detonated by the terrorists in an area close to the gendarmerie post.

Two more security personnel were also injured in the attack and they were taken to Midyat State Hospital for treatment. One of them is reportedly in critical condition.

A large-scale operation was launched in the area after the incident.
