Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Turkey’s former minister for family affairs, labor and social security, will earn TL 39,423 ($4,742) a month for attending the board meetings of a local steel company, Turkish media reported on Thursday.

Selçuk was appointed as minister in July 2018, when President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan merged the Ministry of Labor and Social Services with the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

The president in late April divided into two the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, replacing her with lawyer Derya Yanık as minister for family affairs and Vedat Bilgin, an advisor to Erdoğan, as minister for labor and social security.

Fifteen days after she was replaced, Selçuk became a board member of the Kardemir Karabük Iron Steel Industry and Trade Co. Inc., a Turkish steel producer, to be paid TL 39,423 ($4,742) a month for attending board meetings, according to local media reports.

The development was announced by the company in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Thursday.
