Turkey’s coronavirus cases increased by 1,374 on Monday to 198,613, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The death toll reached 5,115 with an increase of 18 in the last 24 hours, the chart indicated.
The number of patients in intensive care, meanwhile, climbed over 1,000 as of Monday.
“The increase in the number of intensive care patients is at the expected level,” Koca tweeted on Monday.
Of all people afflicted with the virus, 171,809 have recovered so far, according to the ministry. In other words, there are only some 25,000 active cases in the country.
Coronavirus cases worldwide have now exceeded 10 million.
