Turkey announces 952 new coronavirus cases, 27 deaths

Turkey’s coronavirus cases reached 154,500 with an increase of 952 on Friday, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.

The coronavirus death toll increased by 27 to 4,276, the chart indicated.

“Despite the increasing numbers of tests performed, the number of new cases remain under 1,000,” Koca tweeted.

Turkey received more than 37,500 test results on Friday.

Of the confirmed cases, 116,111 are recoveries, while 800 are patients being treated in intensive care.

The government has already eased some of the coronavirus measures imposed in mid-March.

But Turks will stay at home due to a government-imposed curfew during Eid al-Fitr, the three-day-long festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
