The pro-government A Haber TV station has claimed that US President Donald Trump will visit Turkey in July.

The relationship between Turkey and US has been strained since Ankara refused to abandon its purchase of a Russian S-400 air defense system.

On April 16 Turkish Finance Minister Berat Albayrak visited Trump in the White House, claiming to have had a “constructive conversation” on the S-400s with the president.

Last week President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Trump spoke on the phone and “agreed to maintain close cooperation on the anti-terror fight.”

The visit would be Trump’s first to Turkey.
