The Batman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has indicted 41 lawyers on charges of misconduct in a protest against a court in 2014, the Cumhuriyet daily reported.

The attorneys on Feb. 3, 2014 applauded when leaving a courtroom to protest the judges, who rejected their every request without explanation during a hearing.

They were defending alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), the umbrella organization that encompasses the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The prosecutor has demanded sentences ranging from six months to two years for the attorneys.

The Batman 1st High Criminal Court accepted the indictment on Thursday.
