AKP deputy attracts criticism due to controversial photo in Parliament

Kenan Sofuoğlu, a deputy from Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) who is also a former professional motorcycle racer, has attracted widespread criticism due to a photo he shared on Thursday in which he presented his two advisors as his servants.

Sofuoğlu posted the controversial photo on his Instagram account in which two of his advisors are seen standing in front of him with their hands crossed in a show of respect while Sofuoğlu is seen with his feet on a table in his office in Parliament. “My servants,” wrote Sofuoğlu in reference to his advisors.

The AKP deputy received thousands of critical messages in hours from Instagram users who accused him of creating a mafia-like atmosphere in Parliament.

This is not the first time that Sofuoğlu has attracted public criticism for his controversial actions. He faced similar criticism when he came to Parliament with his super luxurious car.

In the meantime, Sofuoğlu had to remove the controversial photo from his account due to growing criticism and claimed he only wanted to add some humor to politics.
