President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will produce a 30-minute program to be aired on public broadcaster TRT explaining presidential activities to the public, the Sözcü daily reported on Monday.
The program, which was introduced by a presidential decree issued on Sunday, will be produced outside of TRT and broadcast on TV and radio stations.
It will aim to explain Erdoğan’s activities along with their reasons, benefits, methods and principles.
According to the decree the program will not target any party or individual and will not seek political advantage.
Erdoğan had previously been giving speeches about important matters on TV through a recorded video called “Addressing the Nation,” which was initiated by former President Turgut Özal in the late 1980s to explain presidential activities and to respond to critics.
