Devlet Bahçeli, chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), was re-elected as chairman of the party at a congress where he stood as the only candidate, Cumhuriyet reported on Sunday.
A total of 1,167 of 1,169 party delegates voted in favor of Bahçeli, giving him his ninth term as MHP chairman.
Bahçeli has been under fire from some nationalists over his cooperation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his ruling party. Bahçeli and Erdoğan have agreed to make alliance for the upcoming elections in 2019.
Some members of MHP left the party last year to join the IYI (Good) Party under the leadership of Meral Akşener.
