One more Turkish soldier was killed and three others were injured in an attack perpetrated by Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists in Syria’s al-Bab region, according to a statement from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on Sunday.

As part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkey sent tanks across the border to help Syrian rebels drive ISIL from the border city of Jarabulus in late August, in a dramatic escalation of its involvement in the Syrian civil war.

The number of Turkish soldiers killed during Operation Euphrates Shield has reached 72 with the latest loss.
