10 Turkish soldiers killed in SE Turkey by PKK terrorist attacks

Total ten soldiers were killed by terrorist Kurdistan People’s Party (PKK) in two different attacks in Kızıltepe district of Mardin province and in Şırnak province on Monday.

Six soldiers were killed in Şırnak by a PKK attack while soldiers were providing security for ongoing construction work on a road linking the Sirnak and Van provinces. One PKK terrorist was killed during an ongoing operation to apprehend the terrorists.

Another terrorist attack took place evening on Monday as four other soldiers were killed after PKK terrorists detonated a handmade explosive which was trapped on a road in Kızıltepe district of Mardin.

Meanwhile, the Turkish army killed three PKK terrorists in an operation in the southeastern Hakkari province on Monday, military sources said.

More than 600 Turkish security forces were killed since July 2015 after PKK resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state which was halted during the settlement process which was launched by the Turkish government in accordance with PKK leadership in 2012.
