A Trabzonspor fan brutally attacked one of the referees, Volkan Bayarslan, in the Fenerbahçe-Trabzonspor match in Trabzon on Sunday evening leading the game to be cut short.
Trabzonspor were 4-0 down against Fenerbahçe when the Trabzonspor fan ran on the pitch and jumped on the referee’s assistant’s back, knocking him over, before kicking and punching him repeatedly on the floor. The incident took place on the 89th minute of the game.
Referee Bülent Yıldırım ordered both teams to return to their dressing rooms, before abandoning the match.
Meanwhile, Bayarslan reportedly filed a criminal complaint against the fan who attacked him.
